In October 2014 the Chris Clubley Company's Antiques Sale was a sell-out due to the appearance of the BBC cameras to capture the visit of Christina Trevanion and Philip Serrel to Melbourne Village Hall.
The filming by the BBC was followed by the broadcast of the auction on BBC TV 1 on Thursday the 8th January, 2015. After spending several hours at the Hall, all Melbourne residents were captivated by the warm of both Christina and Philip who spent a considerable time chatting to, and posing for photographs, with all and sundry.

The Melbourne Ladies, here posing in the kitchen, had one of their busiest days in the Hall preparing breakfasts for the numerous visitors. These breakfasts, a common feature on all Clubley's sale days at Melbourne, are an important part of our funding of the hall. All local residents are invited to come and sample these excellent, high quality, low cost meals. Moreover, volunteers are always welcome to come and spend one or two hours helping in the kitchen during these sale days.
Having seen the results of the televised auction one can feel sympathy for Christina who was pipped by Philip in achieving the best return for the numerous items the purchased to sell in Melbourne. What on earth the purchasers are going to do with such items as a stuffed Peacock, a decrepit park bench, an immense chimney pot and innumerable flood lights. etc., is anybody's guess. But, everyone who attended the sale had fun and we were delighted to hear that Philip and Christina declared it such a success that they would like a return visit to the Hall in the future.
